School Is In Session!

Today was Caleb and Grace's first day of school. They did great with the morning routine. I wasn't to sure of how Grace would do, given that she was up until 11pm. Her excitement could not be contained. Her outfit was carefully chosen, nails done and glitter lotion completed the prep. Caleb had the "locker jitters." It is his first time having a locker combination to remember and the changing of classes. 6th grade is BIG stuff!

We said our quick goodbyes and he was off running. Grant and I walked Grace to her kindergarten class. She was very excited to get her goodies out of her "Highschool Musical" book bag, check out the room and sit by her girlfriends. Did I mention how much she loves her book bag? It was a BIG hit from Grandma! There weren't any goodbyes for Mom and Dad. She was off being our little social butterfly. The morning did fly by for me as I busied myself with housework. Grace was so sweet when I picked her up. We enjoyed our walk home as she told me all about her day. Her first words were, "It was BORING and I have to be QUIET a lot." I don't think she expected to have as many rules as she does. She told me how she painted a gingerbread man, made her hand prints and played on the playground. She also was quick to mention that two little boys got into trouble but promised that she did NOT. I think her teacher has her hands full with this class.
I am going to LOVE and APPRECIATE our chats each day. I hope she always shares this much with me. :)

Oh, I can't believe it's that time of year already...where did the summer go? I love hearing about the kids' first day of school...they are so cute! I've been thinking about my school and what I would be doing if I were going back. I definitely miss it some, but I am so thankful and happy to be home doing what I love and do best...being Caroline's mommy!!!! Keep us posted on how Grace likes Kdg.!

My mom tells me that on my first day of school, I came home and told her -- "It was awful, I had to sit in the same seat all day!" Tough stuff for young active girls!
