Camping over the Fourth

Grant and I and the kids were able to sneak away for a few days and enjoyed "camping in style" with great friends. We slept in our friends camper while the older boys slept in the tent. We had all the luxuries of home. It was unbelievable the delicious food we ate. I experienced pie irons for the first time. We watched a movie each night on a large sheet. It was like being at a drive through but better...we sat by the fire and ate smores too. The boys went fishing each morning. We had a nice indoor and outdoor pool to swim in. Grace finally grasped the swimming techniques and swam on her own without any water wings. We were just amazed by her determination. Within 3 days she was swimming in the deep end under water and doing complete flips. We also had friends bring a boat and were gracious enough to take everyone out for a spin. Caleb went tubing out on the lake which completely surprised us. We had a thunderstorm in the evening but it did not put a damper on our fun. The break away was just what we needed.
