I will never forget this day for as long as I live. My friend Jenny and I ran in our first 5k road race in downtown Cincinnati. Personally I was scared to death. We had been training hard for this event for the last 9 weeks. After suffering from shin splints and taking time off to rest, I was unsure of the road ahead of me and if I could accomplish what I had set out to do. Did I have what it takes to push through the pain? I didn't know. But with Christ I can do anything!
I ran with scripture in my pocket and on my hand to help remind me of the strength and power that I have through the Holy Spirit. I not only ran the race pain free but finished strong. To God be the Glory for great things that HE has done!!!!
Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us THROW OFF EVERYTHING THAT HINDERS AND THE SIN THAT SO EASILY ENTANGLES, AND LET US RUN WITH PERSEVERANCE THE RACE MARKED OUT FOR US, FIXING OUR EYES ON JESUS, THE PIONEER AND PERFECTER OF OUR FAITH.

Tami, I am so proud of you!!! When you were home for your dad's surgery, you were still training, even though it would have been a good excuse to 'slack off'. I wish I could have been there at the finish line to congratulate you.
Awesome, Tami! Running has always been something I enjoy, and I miss it very much - I'll be starting again soon, and I've never run in an actual race, so you'll have to keep checking on me to see if I've entered one! Jen
