We benefit by being surrounded by great friends that home school their children. Laura came up with a great idea to have all the older kids prepare a meal once a week and the younger kids and their families would be the taste testers. We loved the idea. The kids searched through Taste of Home magazines for recipes that sounded good to them. They planned the entire menu from start to finish. We had yummy appetisers to sample and the richest of chocolate desserts. They had such a great time working together and preparing delicious meals for us all. Caleb rushed home from school every Tuesday to get started on the meal. He was even more willing to try new things since he had helped make it. We always looked forward to our Tuesday Night Feast with great friends and the best of cooks.
Some of the items they made included: fried chicken, chicken quesedillas, flank steak, pepperoni pinwheels, beef brisket, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, chocolate moose, frozen mocha pie, pound cake and many other delicious dishes. Hats off to you Chloe, Sam, Josh and Caleb!
