This morning I received a phone call from a mom. Her son is a good friend of Caleb's. She wanted to tell me about an incident that happened during school. As you already know, this year is Caleb's 3rd year playing football and he is enjoying it very much. He has made many friends on the team. They like to pal around together. It is not uncommon for the boys to sit together at a lunch table. Caleb had a good friend come up and sit down next to him. The other boys at the table quickly protested that Caleb's friend could not sit there because he did NOT play football. They preceded to take a vote as to whether or not this boy could sit with them. Caleb and another boy were the only two to stand up and say that he could. The boy did end up sitting with Caleb and the others. After he came home from school today, we had a nice talk about what happened. I reminded him, that like David, he may be the smallest boy on his team but he is MIGHTY with God. What may have seemed small made a Big impact on the life of a true friend and maybe even to those other boys watching. How cool that Caleb has already realized that he can be friends with everyone and not just one group of people. It is all for God's glory! Grant and I are so proud of our sweet boy and his COURAGE to take a stand even if it means going against the team. We love you Caleb! Keep swingin' that sling shot in this big world!!
